Kozy started in 2016 as something simple—a creative outlet, a hobby I loved. I spent my time pouring candles for local markets and craft shows while finishing school at Indiana University Southeast, not knowing it would become something so much bigger.
After graduating in 2019 with a degree in business marketing, I had plans to move and follow a more traditional path. But when 2020 shifted everything, I stayed. I kept making candles, delivering them locally, and slowly building something that felt aligned.
In June of 2020, Kozy found its first home inside my friend’s boutique, True North, in downtown New Albany. From there, it grew—steadily and organically. We opened our own storefront in October 2021, and in 2022, our candle-making bar became a space for people to gather, create, and connect.
At its core, Kozy is about more than candles. It’s about creating light, building ritual, and offering something people can return to—again and again. I’ve always wanted this space to feel calm, welcoming, and a little bit like a reset. A place where you can slow down, connect, and leave with something that feels like a small luxury.
